Spring Wellness Week

Dates: March 16 to March 20, 2026
Location: Club des Blés d’Or de La Chapelle Saint Ursin – Main Hall and Activity Rooms

Overview
Spring Wellness Week is a comprehensive five-day program dedicated to enhancing physical, mental, and emotional well-being. The event is designed especially for seniors, though all community members are welcome. The theme for this year is “Renewal and Balance,” focusing on renewal after winter months, gentle physical activity, relaxation techniques, healthy nutrition, and social well-being. Our goal is to offer participants practical tools and joyful experiences that can enrich everyday life.

The week begins on Monday morning with a warm welcome from our association’s leadership team. Participants arrive and receive a detailed schedule, informational materials, and wellness journals to record their experiences throughout the week. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, with staff and volunteers ready to assist and answer questions.

Daily Program Highlights

Monday — Opening & Mindful Beginnings
The first day centers on mindfulness and stress reduction. The morning starts with a gentle breathing session focusing on techniques to calm the nervous system. Participants are guided through exercises that are easy to follow regardless of prior experience. After a light refreshment break featuring seasonal fruit and herbal tea, an informative talk on the benefits of mindfulness for overall health is presented. The afternoon includes a group discussion on strategies for incorporating mindfulness into daily routines and concludes with a reflective writing session in the wellness journals provided.

Tuesday — Movement for Life
Tuesday’s focus is physical activity adapted for all levels. The morning begins with chair yoga, emphasizing gentle stretching and posture support. This is followed by an introduction to balance exercises designed to improve stability and confidence in daily movement. After a nutritious lunch provided at the venue, attendees participate in a guided walk in the nearby park, encouraging participants to enjoy nature and fresh air. In the late afternoon, a session on ergonomics and body care is offered, giving practical tips on reducing muscle tension and preventing common discomforts.

Wednesday — Nutrition & Vitality
Healthy nutrition takes center stage on this day. The morning features a workshop with a nutrition specialist who explains the basics of balanced eating, focusing on foods that support energy and digestion for seniors. Participants engage in group activities to create simple, wholesome weekly meal plans. After lunch, a hands-on cooking demonstration shows how to prepare three easy, nutritious dishes using accessible ingredients. The day concludes with a tasting session where participants sample the prepared dishes and exchange thoughts on their flavors and health benefits.

Thursday — Creative Expression
Thursday is dedicated to creative exploration. The morning session opens with expressive art, where participants use color and texture to explore feelings and ideas. No artistic experience is needed; the emphasis is on freedom of expression and enjoyment. After a break, a writing workshop invites participants to explore personal stories or poetic reflections inspired by spring and renewal. The afternoon continues with music and movement activities that encourage joy and rhythm, helping participants connect through shared creative practice.

Friday — Reflection & Celebration
The final day begins with a reflection circle. Participants share insights from the week and discuss how they plan to integrate new habits into daily life. A closing talk highlights the importance of ongoing wellness and offers additional resources. The event concludes with a celebratory lunch featuring seasonal dishes prepared by local volunteers, followed by light music and socializing in the main hall.

Spring Wellness Week aims to leave participants feeling refreshed, informed, and connected, with practical tools they can carry into their daily lives long after the week concludes.
